Trailer Nursery

I have waited so long to decorate my trailer nursery and its still hard to believe its not only finished but i have my sweet baby sleeping in the crib! so wonderful :) but first how our trip went...

it was quite the trip lemme tell ya but we laughed a lot and somehow made it... the trip started thursday morning a little rocky. if its not hard enough leaving the house with a newborn trying leaving the house and moving with a newborn and a puppy! ouch, yes i'm an idiot. since as most of you know my dear puppy is VERY active so i asked the vet for doggie downers. well oakley somehow managed to lick up a little piece that fell out of Remmis mouth that's my guess anyways. thankfully Nicole came over and kept an eye on my parents drugged puppy while mom and i attempted to get on the road.

after giving remmi another doggy downer, mom exploding white cheddar popcorn ALL over my car, having to nurse in the middle of no where and burger king, one night in a sketch motel we finally made it. yah, we were both over the trip before we even left Idaho but it was a memory we won't forget :)

i'll admit i've been very spoiled living with mom, if i couldn't get wes to burp she was right there. when i needed to go shower or make lunch and wes just wanted to be held mom was on it. i'm very thankful for the time i got to spent with my parents... guess it all worked out perfectly. after all the crazy paths my life has taken so far i really should have better faith!

today has been the first day i've been totally alone with wes and rem. mike had to get up at 4:30 to take spaz dog for a walk to give me a little more time in the mornings before i have to brave a walk with him and the stroller... its weird being alone though. good thing i speak baby and puppy ;-)

sorry its kind of a boring update, i'll try to update in a week and let you know if i'm surviving or if i bought a ticket to take me back home.

now here's our trailer nursery! i know everything is crammed but i'm pretty proud of the way everything's turned out. especially our project we did last year... the tool holder that mike took down and spray painted. it holds wesson's stuff perfectly! :) i never thought i'd have wes sleeping in his crib already but i think he loves it... he slept 8 hours straight last night in it! and also on his tummy! yes i got up oh 3 or 4 times to make sure he was still okay!

Brighton, Colorado.

Nervous. Excited. Anxious. Ready.

Brighton, Colorado here we come... we got the call a week and a half ago. Mike packed up and left within 24 hours. ouch. we knew it was coming so i can't say it was a shock but still moving that fast is always hard. Its been a rough two weeks for Mike not seeing Wesson although i've sent A TON of pictures and videos, he is going to be shocked when he gets to hold his almost 9 pound boy! Brighton is a smaller town right outside of Denver (like hayden to cda) i couldn't be more excited to be that close to denver... i've found SO many mommy groups, puppy groups, yoga studios, shopping centers and activities to keep us plenty busy. Mike is most like working 6 12s which will be hard to not see him but more hours = getting finished faster! our sundays will be filled with lots of day trips :)

mom will be driving the 17 hour drive with me, wesson, remmi and this dumb little plant i think our family needs. we'll be leaving thursday morning and she'll fly home sunday night. i am nervous for the big drive but SO incredibly thankful for her help and company. its going to be an adventure!!

Wesson Update:
i knew i was going to love being a mom but didn't know just how much i would love that little boy... i feel like i get plenty of sleep every night. anywhere from 4 to 7 hours :) we've ventured out quite a bit too... he's already a regular at caddy shack! he's such a little sweetie... one of my favorite things right now is bath time. i swear he would live in the water! he gets so excited when he hears the water and gets a big grin, showing off his dimple, when he gets to get in the water and "swim" :) love it.

wish us good luck on the drive and i'll be sure to take lots of pictures along the way :) xoxo

Wesson's Birth Story

He's here... my sweet, sweet baby boy is finally here. Currently i am sitting on the floor looking over pictures and remembering all the not so fun details of how he came to be curled up with daddy on the couch right now. man is it a beautiful site... this amazing adventure started wednesday morning around 9 am. i was so excited to finally be feeling contractions it took everything to not get my hopes up and try to make the day go by. i was able to time them all day long but wednesday evening is when they started to get to 5 mins apart. i told myself i'd go in at 3 mins. so close to midnight i finally decided okay lets go! the storm must have put a lot of other woman into labor, it was a packed night on the 2nd floor! i went in at 1.5 cm dilated. ouch i had been that for 2 weeks already! they said either in an hour i had to make progress or either leave and go home or stay and get induced. needless to say this was our least favorite nurse!! i was not going back home so i bounced on that damn ball for an hour, crying, wondering if we were even going to be able to stay. worse hour of the night. but i got it done and i dilated to a 2! we got admitted made our phone calls and it was go time. i was at a 3 around 8:30 am and than a 4 around noon when Dr. Julie Meltzer decided lets break my water and get it going. and boy did it get it going... through the morning i'd stayed pretty calm and kept my deep breathing right on track but once those contractions started getting harder it was a rough bit. i had AMAZING coaches. my husband was an incredible couch! seriously if i could lend him out to help others i would. he kept me focused and positive. my mom was also my coach and although Mike was definatly my main go to i needed my mama in there to help keep grounded! around 2 i was dilated to a 7 which pretty much gave me my second wind. from 2 to 3:30ish i dilated to a 10! whew! i pushed for about an hour before we finally got to see our boy. it was truely an incredible experience that i can't really put into a blog so if you want the dirty details i'd be more than happy to share... Jussy and Whitney this is including you two ;-) i'm very thrilled i was able to do it natural.... i can honestly say not once did i say i wanted an epidural but i did say i couldn't do it anymore, A LOT! that was my go to phrase. also i should announce that uncle christopher guessed right on the date (april 26th) and was closest to the weight and time of birth. ha now thanks to Grandpa Schenck i can share wesson's birth story through pictures :) they make me cry every time...

Wesson Michael McBride: born April 26th at 4:37 pm.... 8 lbs 3 ozs... 20.5 inches long... we love you more than anything baby boy, you are the perfect addition to our growing family.

***also we cannot forget Baby Gracelynn made her appearance less than 24 hours after Wes. Faith you did AMAZING!! what a tough labor good thing you're such a tough cookie!! :) we got to visit before labor got too bad and we were neighbors once our sweet babies were born. its been so wonderful having Faith and Miss Whitney (only a few weeks left mama!!) to cling onto these few months and especially the really rough last few weeks. I can't wait to watch us grow as mamas and to watch these babies grow up!!***

Plan C.

i just spend the last hour re-reading over my blog from the last year and what a crazy, crazy time of my life... oh wait i'm still living it! i feel like we're kind of in the exact postion we were a year ago except with a baby coming. oh traveling linelife i am so over you. Goal: next year when i re read my life to not be living at my parents. i know so many people have questioned why i post my life for anyone to read but i love being able to go back and remember those little adventures that i'm amazed we made it through... kinda helps my current situation lol i had forgotten about the toilet misshap and our fridge breaking down when we first got to Wyoming. i thought i was going to have a mental break down and look we survived! so feeling like an episode of 16 & pregnant is my life right now, alright but its just for the moment! the books are moving quickly again so literally any day now Mike could be back to work and soon after me and the boys will be right back with him taking on new challenges. we're strong and although i may feel mentally beaten some days its okay. this is all another thing to read about and laugh about.

i love the quote off of pintrest "if plans A & B fail its okay cause there's 24 letters to go through" yup thats kinda how i feel...or at least what i'm hanging onto.

plan A was: come home for December, go back to Wyoming after
plan B was: well we're laid off so we'll hang out here until we get called and we'll all go together

plan C currently is: it is a little too late for me to travel so i'm here :) Mike is currently number 6 on the books so any day he will get called out and leave us to get situated where ever. i have 23 days until my due date, give or take. i'd be lying if i said i wasn't freaking out. i pray daily that Mike will be placed in Montana so as soon as labor starts he can drive his booty back home and be here for Wesson's birth. if not Montana than hopefully close to an airport that has a straight flight to Spokane. its going to be a very crazy next few weeks lemme tell ya!

besides not knowing where my husband is going to be when i go into labor, i am so ready. we truly got spoiled at the showers and got everything we needed and wanted. all Wesson's clothes and blankets are washed, diapers and wipes are stocked and ready to be blown through the first week, i packed our hospital bag this morning and i'm talking mike into putting in the carseat today. i'm sure some of you are thinking okay a little early? yah maybe but come tomorrow Wesson is considered full term and please you all know me... i'm little miss ready :)

i feel great for the most part. i'm extra sensitive, cranky and feel like i need a crane to hoist me outta bed but i'm happy and excited. i'm trying to fill up my weeks with positive friends and family time (even though i'm sure mom is thinking we get PLENTY of bonding) :) i have busy wednesdays with dr julie and yoga but now to stay busy the other 6 days!

i've got the blues.

"i'm sorry i'm such a crazy cranky person lately..."
"hey don't worry i am here to be your yell and be mad at person. if you forgot i did half this..."

in turn that statement sent me into crying my eyes out. i guess i've been very lucky up until now. my pregnancy has been easy besides the sickness. i stayed active and ate all the right foods but i suppose no matter how hard you work to stay "normal" you're body tells you otherwise. from the begining i refused to be one of those woman who used their pregnancy as an excuse to "slack off" but now i have no choice. i officially cannot do half the things i need to do... walking has become pretty much non existant. after a walk last weekend with the puppies i started having this horrible pain in my lower stomache. i'm not too worried about it i did some searching and am pretty sure he's just getting head down and putting lots of pressure on me....

i have a little over 5 weeks left... but damn its going to be a long 5 weeks. i have a total of 4 shirts that i can fit in, 1 pair of jeans and of course sweat pants. not exactly a wardrobe to make you feel good! i get exhausted getting ready for the day so my hair is in a messy bun 95% of the time.

i was going over my calendar trying to fill the days up more but everything is done now. i had my two beauitful showers and got everything (plus more!) that we needed; i am now waiting to see my materinity pictures so i can at least get some in frames; all of wesson's clothes are washed and put away; our room is fully organized and clean; my birth plan is created and ready to go; the last thing i need to do is pack my hospital bag... which i can't do quite yet obviously. there's not much else i can do to stay busy.

the books are moving... mike was number 8 last week. he'll call this afternoon to see if they moved again. he was number 7 last year when we got called to wyoming... so literally any day he could be leaving me. which is so bittersweet. he needs to get back to work for obviously financial/insurance reasons and to finish up his hours so we can be done with this whole apprenticeship but how am i going to function without him?? i already feel like a teen mom living in my parents house relying on them for so much but at least i have mike here so we can push through together. i'm terrified of where they're going to place them. i know anywhere is a just a plane ticket away but really its so scary knowing my husband won't be there from the beginning...

i guess i just need to push through the horrible random crying sessions, the millions of pee breaks, the sleepless nights, not being able to just jump up off the couch, being constanstly hungry but feeling like throwing up after each bite, and of course the wonderful but horribly painful Wesson kicks. i love them but wow he can get up in some painful positions!

i just can't wait to hold him and see his sweet face... we can't wait to meet you sweet baby Wesson.

Plan B.

things have been slightly stressful here to say the least. i am now 31 weeks tomorrow and we're still laid off. typically we wouldn't be stressing about this because its part of this apprenticeship unfortunately but prepping for a baby is a little crazy... so instead of dwelling on this fact we're trying to pick up the pieces and move to plan b. have Wesson here.

chances are mike will be back to work by April 24th but now that i'm going to the doctors every other week its just less stressful to think about changing doctors and just accept that we're here. Mike will just need to hurry his booty back once Wesson starts to make his way into the world. of course i have many mixed feelings about staying here... its been incredibly difficult not to put my nursery together, and lets face it you all are bummed too. i know you wanted to see me pull off a nursery in a trailer. well its still happening just a little later than we thought. besides Wes won't even be in his crib until around 4 months! for now little mister will be sleeping in a cradle that was i believe (correct me if i'm wrong!) was my aunt Amys than my cradle.

we've been staying busy by taking any and all baby prep classes we can find. we started our birthing class 3 weeks ago and its been really good for us. not only with the information we're learning but really connecting us together as parents. Mike cracks me up he is so into getting everything perfect when lets face it its not going to go perfect! but its sweet he's trying :) hes going to be a great daddy! i'm still doing prenatal yoga every wednesday. i know i preach about yoga a lot but i seriously cannot stress it enough... i plan on pushing all of my friends to start prenatal yoga as soon as they get pregnant even though yes i'm pushing non preggo friends into yoga now :) there are just so many benefits!

8 week challenge update: we've just finished week 5 already! and yes i'm going to brag a little here, i am very proud of myself :) so i am almost 8 months pregnant and have gained a grand total of 8 pounds! before anyone tells me i'm not being healthy and thats not good for my baby please take a second to think. obviously i would never do anything to put my baby or myself in any danger. trust me i've talked to my doctor about everything along the way. i walk every. single. day. i do yoga and lift weights daily and of course my prenatal class that is definantly a work out once a week. i eat very clean. do i give in to splurges? of course. but i don't use my pregnancy as an excuse to gorge myself and let my body go. although i've only gained a little weight i'm fully showing now and fully feeling very pregnant. Mike laughs every time we walk because i swear at least once i have to stop and really work those kegels and try to not pee my pants! thank you Wes for jumping on the bladder! My ankles are starting to feel the effects and are feeling a little weak.

Wesson is fully active now and can be found in mommy's rib! i love it though... constant reminder that our baby boy is healthy and happy. i have a feeling he's going to come our swing dancin away! :) Thank you those friends who have really stuck with us through this stressful/exciting time. your friendship means more to us than you know :)
